FRANCEVILLE, GABON - Ghana play Tunisia in the last quarter-final of the Africa Cup of Nations this evening in the only quarter-final tie that has seen two former champions play each other. Ghana are clear favourites to win the game at a best price of 21/20 (bet £20 to win £21) to win the game only with Bet Victor. Most other firms price them in and around evens, while Tunisia are best at 10/3 with Stan James to win the match, again only in 90 minutes. Punters can back the 90-minute draw at 23/10, a best price with Betfred.
In the even that the match does end in a draw, we will of course have 30 minutes of extra-time and then, if needed, penalties. Ghana are short to progress into the semi-finals by any method at 1/2 on Betfair., while you can get 9/5 with Stan James for Tunisia to make it through the tie into the semi-finals.
Ghana are looking to end a thirty year wait for the Nations Cup and are unbeaten so far, with two wins and three draws taking them through Group D as group winners. The Black Stars squad have a clean bill of health for the tie, with Anthony Annan still available having declared himself up for selection despite the death of his mother on Thursday. The Black Stars will most likely line up with Kwadwo Asamoah playing behind frontman Asamoah Gyan, with a midfield four of Inkoom, Badu, Annan and Ayew.
Tunisia snuck through the group stage despite losing 1-0 to Gabon in their last group game, with two 2-1 wins against Niger and Morocco. Tunisia are 16/1 to win 2-1 again today with Ladbrokes, 8/1 with Bodog and Paddy Power to win 1-0 while the 1-1 draw is priced at 6/1, again best with Ladbrokes.
Both of Ghana's wins have been to nil (2-0 over Mali and 1-0 over Botswana), and it is 15/8 with Bet365 and Paddy Power for the Black Stars to win to nil again this evening. The Ghana clean sheet is 23/20, a best price with Bet Victor, as most other firms offer around evens. 1-0 to Ghana is 5/1 with Ladbrokes and Blue Square, while the 2-0 Ghana win is best at 17/2, only on Betfair.
In the 13 matches that the two teams have ever played against each other, Ghana have won 7, Tunisia 4 and the other 2 being draws. Tunisia's player of the tournament so far, Youssef Msakni, is said to have shaken off an ankle injury though Anis Boussaidi may miss out due to an adductor injury. Adel Chadli has abandoned the squad after the falling out, while it is likely that Jamel Saihi and Hocine Ragued will keep their spots in midfield.
The winners of the quarter-final will play Zambia in Wednesday's semi-final in Bata, and Ghana are 3/1 with Bet365 to win the whole tournament, only behind Ivory Coast, who are at evens with most firms, such as Bet365, Betfred and Bet Victor. Tunisia are much longer at a best price of 14/1 only with Stan James, with most other firms offering around 11s or 12s for the North African outfit.
The match kicks off at 1900 GMT and is live on Eurosport.
