Arsenal host The Championship’s West Brom in tonight’s second round carling cup tie. The home side go in as strong favourites at 1/2 (bet $20 to make $10 profit) with West Brom at 7/1, and the draw at 7/2.
The Gunners are yet to play in the Carling cup this season, while West Brom needed extra time to beat Rotherham at home in the second round, after beating Bury in the first.
Eduardo is joint favourite to open the scoring at 4/1 along with team-mate Robin van Persie but Nicklas Bendtner and Andrey Arshavin are not far behind at 5/1. For West Brom Luke Moore and Roman Bednar are both at 10/1. However, Arsenal often field very young teams in the Carling cup, and it is likely that many of the favourites will not start the match.
Arsenal to win 2-0 is the most likely score at 13/2, closely followed by 1-0 at 7/1 and 2-1 at 15/2. West Brom to win 1-0 is 24/1, and a 0-0 draw is 17/1.
The North London side are evens to be winning at half time and full time, with Draw / Arsenal at 7/2. Draw / draw is the next most likely at 7/1.
Arsenal went out of the Carling Cup last year to lower-league opposition and will be hoping to avoid another upset against a team who are on a high after beating a strong Middlesborough side 5-0 away from home on Saturday.
