College Basketball betting - March Madness

This week sees the biggest competition in College Basketball as March Madness tips off on Thursday. Sixty-five teams, determined by Conference tournaments and the Selection Committee, will compete for the NABC Championship trophy and  chance to impress the host of NBA scouts that come out to watch the tournament, which is in an elimination format.
The Kansas Jayhawks have been made favourites at 7/4 (bet $40 to win $70 profit). Kansas have the best record in the Big Twelve, going 32-2 and are in the top ten teams in the country for points/game, 3 point %, field goal % and Rebounds/game. The Jayhawks are 26 points favourites over the Mountain Hawks in their opening game and will take some stopping.
Kentucky are next favourites at 7/2 with Bet365. The Wildcats have the same record as Kansas, at 32-2, and while they have not been as good at winning by big margins, they have been better against the spread, going 17-15 to Kansas` 14-16-1. Kentucky`s first game is against East Tennessee State on Wednesday.
Syracuse top the Big East conference with a record of 28-4. The Orange went 19-9 against the spread this season, have the best field-goal percentage in the league with 51.6%, and the 2003 Champions are 7/1 to win the Championship for the second time this year.
The Duke Blue Devils are available at 15/2 with Bet365 and topped the ACC by winning their last three games, albeit losing against the spread in each. Duke went 29-5 on the court and 18-13-2 against the spot. They will hope to continue their winning ways and add to the three titles they won between 1991 and 2001.
An interesting outsider may be Michigan State. The Spartans have not stood in out in too many areas this season but their 26.3 defensive rebound per game, third best in the league, carried them to a record of 24-8 and could be useful as the tournament games begin to slow down to half-court pace. The Spartans are available at 30/1 with Bet365.
March Madness opens on Tuesday and the Championship Game will take place in the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on April 5th.
