Everton will host West Brom at Goodison Park for third round of the Carling Cup on Wednesday night. The last encounter between these two sides ended in a 1-0 victory to West Brom at the Hawthorns stadium last season. The bookmakers favour Everton, who can be backed at best odds of 8/11 (bet £11 to make £8 profit) with 888 Sport and Ladbrokes. The draw can be had at a standout 14/5 with Bet 365 whilst an away victory is on offer at a top priced 9/2 shot with Bet 365 and Betfred.
West Brom lie bottom of the Premier League after their 3-0 defeat at Swansea, which doesn't put much confidence behind Roy Hodgson's side. On the other hand they have started the season with tough fixtures, including Chelsea away and Manchester United, which if it wasnt for an own goal in the 81st minute would have secured them a point. Everton are unbeaten in their last four games and will be full of confidence for this Carling Cup encounter.
Everton striker's Tim Cahill and Louis Saha will head the first goal scorer market at best odds of 11/2 with Coral. They are closely followed by team-mate Denis Stracqualursi, who is a top priced 6/1 shot with the same bookmaker. Leon Osman, who scored recently against Aston Villa, is on offer at 7/1 with Bet 365 and Betfred for Everton whilst West Brom's biggest threat will come from Peter Odemwingie at an industry best of 17/2 with Bet 365.
In the correct scoreline market, the bookmakers favour a 1-0 home victory, which can be had at best odds of 13/2 with Victor Chandler whilst a 1-1 draw can be backed at 7/1 with William Hill. Skybet are offering 12/1 on the game being goalless but a 2-1 away win can be had at odds as long as 16/1 with Betfred.
Everton/Everton is on offer at best odds of 13/8 wth 888 Sport and Stan James whilst at Ladbrokes Everton to win after being level at the break is at 7/2. A draw at both half-time and full-time can be backed at best odds of 11/2 with Coral. West Brom/West Brom is at an industry best of 10/1 with Boylesports, and if they win the match after being down at the interval, odds as long as 50/1 can be had at Paddy Power and Stan James.
In the Over/Under market, over 2.5 goals is on offer at best odds of 4/5 with Paddy Power while under the same 2.5 margin can be backed at 21/20 with Bet 365. Punters who are predicting an open contest can get best odds of 9/4 with Stan James on over 3.5 goals.
Bet 365 are offering 20/1 on Everton winning the carling cup, whilst West Brom are at 50/1 with Paddy Power.
This match kicks off at 20.00 BST on Wednesday.
