MILAN, ITALY – Serie A champions AC Milan host league leaders Juventus at the San Siro this evening in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final clash. AC Milan have been installed as the favourites for the encounter, at a best price of 5/4 (bet £4 to make £5 profit) with Ladbrokes. Juventus are a 5/2 chance to claim a first leg advantage with Bet365 whilst the draw is a 23/10 shot at William Hill.
AC Milan will be looking to take a major step towards their first Coppa Italia title since 2003 this evening as they host Juventus in the first leg of their semi-final encounter. The Rossoneri come into the contest off the back of disappointing results against both Lazio and Napoli in their last two league fixtures, as the side’s lengthy injury list has begun to take its toll on the champions title challenge.
The likes of Antonio Cassano, Alexandre Pato, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Alberto Aquilani, Alexander Merkel, Gennaro Gattuso and Alessandro Nesta all remain on the sidelines for the hosts, leaving short of options for tonight’s encounter. Fortunately star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be available for this evening’s clash before he begins his three-match suspension for slapping Napoli’s Salvatore Aronica in their 0-0 draw on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Juventus are almost at full strength for the encounter as they look to continue their phenomenal 23-game unbeaten streak in all competitions this term. The Bianconeri have been Italy’s standout side this campaign and will be hoping to continue their fine form this evening to move one step closer to their first piece of silverware since the 2006 Calciopoli scandal.
In continuing with Antonio Conte’s rotation policy for this competition, keeper Gianluigi Buffon looks set to be replaced by Marco Storari between the sticks for the visitors whilst new signings Marco Borriello, Simone Padoin and Martin Caceres may all make their first starts for the Old Lady since arriving in at the club January.
Milan are 11/2 at Bet365 to win the match by a goal to nil with 2-0 to Massimiliano Allegri’s men is a 9/1 chance at Paddy Power. Juventus can be backed at 8/1 to record a 1-0 victory with Bet Victor whilst 2-1 to the visitors is a 12/1 shot at Boylesports. William Hill offer an industry best 6/1 on the 1-1 draw whilst a goalless affair is a 8/1 chance at Stan James.
Stan James offer an industry leading 6/5 on three or more goals being scored in the match whilst four or more is a 3/1 chance with William Hill. Punters expecting a low scoring affair can back less than three goals being scored at 8/11 with Bet Victor whilst fewer than two is a 21/10 shot at the same firm.
AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has scored 21 goals so far this season, is the favourite to open the scoring in the contest at a best price of 9/2 with Coral. Former Manchester City man Robinho is a 6/1 chance to break the deadlock with Paddy Power. Alessandro Matri is Juve’s top chance to break the deadlock at 15/2 with Bet365 whilst former Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo is a 20/1 chance with the same firm to strike first against his former club.
Milan are the 5/6 favourites to qualify for the final with Bet365 whilst Juventus are a 19/20 chance to progress at Bet Victor.
The Match Kicks off at 1945 BST with live coverage on ESPN.
