In the second of the Twenty20 World Cup semi-finals, Australia take on last year`s champions Pakistan, as they look to set up a final against their arch-rivals England, who beat Sri Lanka last night. Australia have been in sensational form so far in the tournament, and will be full of confidence, coming off the back of five straight wins.
Pakistan have already played the Aussies in the group stages of this tournament, when they lost, falling 34 runs short of their target of 191. Pakistan scraped through the Super Eights stage with a win over South Africa, and they will want to show that last year`s performance was no fluke.
Australia are heavy favourites for the match, priced at 4/9 (bet $90 to make $40 profit). Pakistan are best priced at 11/5 on Betfair.
In the betting for top Australia batsman, Shane Watson is at the head of the market, priced at 3/1 with Blue Square. His opening partner David Warner is next, at 10/3 with Paddy Power, while Michael Clarke is at 13/2. David Hussey is at 7/1 with Totesport, and Brad Haddin and Cameron White are both at 8/1.
Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt are joint favourites to make the top score for Pakistan, priced at 7/2. Umar Akmal is next, best priced at 5/1 with Stan James. Mohammad Hafeez is at 15/2, and Shahid Afridi is an 8/1 shot.
Dirk Nannes is favourite to be Australia`s best bowler, priced at 3/1 with Ladbrokes. Mitchell Johnson and Shaun Tait are both at 7/2.
England are currently favourites to win the tournament, priced at 11/10, while Australia are at 5/4 with Sky Bet. Pakistan are at 6/1 to win.
