ODI Cricket betting - New Zealand vs Australia

New Zealand take on their old rivals Australia today, in the first of their five match ODI series. The two sides drew their twenty20 series, after a dramatic super over was needed to separate the two teams on Sunday. The Kiwis prevailed, and will carry confidence forward from that result.
The Black Caps have won their last five ODI matches, beating the improving Bangladesh 3-0, and Pakistan 2-1 in their most recent series. However, Australia have not lost in their last 10, and have won eleven of their last 16 matches against New Zealand.
Australia are favourites for the match, priced at 2/5 (bet £50 to make £20 profit), while New Zealand are at 11/4 with Coral. New Zealand have lost to Australia the last two times that they have played at Napier, winning by 122 runs when they played in March 2005.
Shane Watson is joint favourite with Ricky Ponting to be Australia`s top batsman for the match, with bookies offering 7/2 on both, while Michael Clarke and wicketkeeper Brad Haddin are both at 5/1. Craig White is at 6/1 and Mike Hussey is a 13/2 shot.
Brendon McCullum, who hammered 116 on Sunday, the second highest ever T20 score, is joint favourite with Ross Taylor to top score for the Kiwis. Martin Guptill is at 9/2, and Peter Ingram is at 5/1. Scott Styris is at 15/2.
Mitchell Johnson is unsurprisingly favourite to be the Wallabies` top bowler for the match, priced at 5/2. Doug Bollinger is next, at 11/4 with William Hill, while all rounder Ryan Harris is at 7/2. Spinner Nathan Hauritz is at 5/1.
Shane Bond and Daniel Vettori are joint favourites to be New Zealand`s top bowler, at 5/2, followed by super over hero Tim Southee at 5/1. Daryl Tuffey is also at 5/1 and Jacob Oram is at 13/2 with Bet365.
Australia are heavy favourites to win the series against their rivals, with bookies offering 1/4 on them emerging as the victors. Bet365 offer the best price of 3/1 on New Zealand. A 4-1 Australia win is the favourite result of the series, priced at 7/4, with 3-2 and 5-0 wins at 5/2 and 7/2 respectively. The Black Caps are 5/1 to win 3-2, and 18/1 to win 4-1. Paddy Power offer a massive 66/1 on them winning in a 5-0 whitewash.
