England vs South Africa - Third ODI betting
By Harry Maude on 2009-11-27 11:02:38
England have received a boost ahead of their third one day international, with the news that front-line bowler Stuart Broad will be fit for the match after missing the first two because of a shoulder injury. The first scheduled ODI was cancelled due to rain, but a superb batting display handed England a seven wicket win and a 1-0 series lead.
Broad is likely to replace Sajid Mahmood, who has been inconsistent recently. England are awaiting news on spinner Graeme Swann, who has a side problem. If he recovers in time he will likely replace Adil Rashid.
South Africa are favourites to win the match, priced at 8/13, while England are priced at 6/4.
England`s top three batsmen in the top batsman market were all born in South Africa, but that will not bother England, who easily saw off South Africa`s total of 252 last weekend. Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Strauss and Jonathan Trott are all priced at 7/2 to be England`s top scorer. Alastair Cook and Joe Denly are next at 5/1, ahead of Paul Collingwood, who scored an unbeaten century last match. He is priced at 11/2.
Graeme Smith is rated as South Africa`s most dangerous batsman, priced at 7/2 to top-score for the Proteas. He is followed by Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers and JP Duminy at 9/2.
James Anderson is favourite to be England`s top bowler at 9/4, followed by Broad at 11/4, Swann at 4/1 and Tim Bresnan at 9/2. Graham Onions is next at 6/1, followed by Paul Collingwood at 13/2. Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright comes in at 9/1.
Pace bowler Dale Steyn is most likely to be South Africa`s top bowler, priced at 5/2, followed by Charl Langeveldt and Wayne Parnell at 3/1. Lonwabo Tsotsobe is next at 4/1.
England have beaten South Africa in all of the last six completed ODIs that the sides have played, and will be hoping for another victory here to put them in pole position to wrap up the five match series.
