TRABZON, TURKEY: Liverpool will hope to recover from a painful 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, one of their rivals for a Champions League spot next season, against Trabzonspor in Turkey tonight. The Reds will be up against it, however, in a very hostile atmosphere, and they are 8/5 (bet £50 to win £80 profit) on Betfair. The hosts are 23/10 with Ladbrokes to win the match, with the draw at 12/5 with Betfred.
The first leg was quite a tight affair, finishing 1-0 to Liverpool, and tonight`s game could be fairly low-scoring, with William Hill offering 6/4 that we see at least 2.5 goals, with under 2.5 available at 8/11 with Totesport.
A 1-1 draw is the favourite score for the match ,at 6/1 on Betfair, followed by another 1-0 win for Liverpool at 15/2 in the same place. A 1-0 home win is 8/1 with Victor Chandler, with 9/1 available, again on Betfair, that the match is goalless. 2-0 to Liverpool is 10/1 with Betinternet.
Following news that Liverpool will be without Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard this evening due to injury, David N`Gog is favourite to open the scoring for the match at 7/1 with Bet 365. He is followed in the betting by Ryan Babel, who scored the only goal of the first leg, at 9/1, with Umut Bulut favourite for the hosts, also at 9/1 with Extrabet.
Liverpool are 10/3 with Stan James to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 6/1 on Betfair to win the match after drawing at half-time. Most bookmakers offer 4/1 that both halves are drawn, with draw/Trabzonspor at 13/2 with Coral and Extrabet.
Stan James make Liverpool 12/1 second-favourites for the Europa League this season, behind only their conquerors at the weekend, Manchester City, who are 7/1 with William Hill.
