UEFA Europa League football betting - Atletico Madrid vs Valencia

Valencia travel to the Spanish capital tonight to face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie. The first leg was an exciting affair that ended in a 2-2 draw, putting the tie in the hands of tonight`s hosts, and Atletico need a win or a low scoring draw tonight to progress to the next round. While the league table appears to show that Valencia are the stronger side, sitting in third place with their opponents as low as tenth, the first leg told a different story and Atletico will definitely believe they can get a result on their own turf.
The hosts are favourites for the game at 13/10 (bet £10 to win £13 profit), leaving Valencia as underdogs at 23/10 with Bet365. Valencia will be pleased to have turned their form around, winning three of their last five games after going five without a win. Atletico are not firing on all cylinders at the moment and have only two wins from their last seven attempts. The draw is available at 5/2 for tonight`s game and, depending on the score, could send either team through.
The game looks as if it could be very close and the bookmakers have made a 1-1 draw the favourite score, priced at 13/2. A 2-1 with for Atletico is next at 17/2, with 1-0 at 10/1. A 2-1 win Valencia is 11/1, with 1-0 at the same price and a more comfortable 2-0 available at 18/1 with Paddy Power. 16/1 is on offer for a 0-0 draw.
Diego Forlan and David Villa have been made joint-favourites to open the scoring tonight at 9/2. Forlan, of Atletico, has scored sixteen league goals this season and drew first blood in the first leg of this tie. Valencia`s Villa, however, also found the net in the game and the Spaniard now has twenty-two goals this term. Forlan`s strike partner Sergio Aguero, who has been coveted by several top clubs, is priced at 11/2 with Coral.
Atletico Madrid are 3/1 to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 5/1 to win the match after drawing at half-time. The bookmakers offer 5/1 that both halves end in a draw and are the same price on Valencia to be in front at both the interval and the final whistle. Draw/Valencia is available at 13/2 with Bodog.
Both teams playing tonight are given a reasonable chance of winning the Europa League this season and the advantage Atletico currently hold in this tie sees them given the better chance of the two, priced at 13/2 with Boylesports offering 8/1 on Valencia.
