Europa League football betting - Valencia vs Atletico Madrid

Tonight`s Europa League match sees a clash between two Spanish sides who are separated by seven places and sixteen points in the La Liga table. Both teams made it through the last round on away goals after drawing both legs of their last-sixteen ties and despite the gap between them in the league they should be fairly evenly matched. Atletico`s standing is deceptive, as their poor start gave them a mountain to climb, and although they left the Bernabeu with nothing on Sunday their showing will give them confidence ahead of tonight`s match.
Valencia`s home form sees the bookmakers fancy them as odds-on favourites at 5/6 (bet £60 to win £50 profit), leaving Atletico as underdogs at 7/2. Both teams are looking to establish some consistency in form, with Atletico winning only two of their last seven and Valencia only two of their last eight. The draw is available at 5/2 but there has only been one draw in the last ten meetings between the two. Last time the sides played was in February and Atletico came away with a 4-1 win at the Vicente Calderon.
The teams look as though they are quite evenly matched and the bookmakers have made a 1-1 draw the favourite score for the game at 13/2, followed by 1-0 to Valencia at 15/2 with Skybet. William Hill offer 14/1 that the game finishes goalless and an upset in the form of a 1-0 win for Atletico is priced at 12/1.
Valencia striker David Villa has been made favourite to open the scoring tonight at 7/2 with Betfred after scoring eighteen league goals already this season. He is followed by Serbian striker Nikola Zigic at 6/1 and Juan Mata at 13/2 with Skybet. Atletico`s Diego Forlan is their best hope of scoring the game`s first goal at 13/2 with his strike partner Sergio Aguero available at 15/2.
Valencia are 2/1 to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 4/1 with Skybet to win the match after drawing at half-time. The bookmakers offer 5/1 that both halves end in a draw and Atletico are 8/1 to be winning at both the interval and the final whistle. Draw/Atletico is available at 9/1.
Both sides are in contention for the Europa League but Valencia are given the better chance of the two at 11/2 with Ladbrokes, while Atletico are priced at 9/1.
