Europa League football betting - Hamburg vs Standard Liege

Hamburg face Standard Liege tonight in the Europa League hoping to turn around their poor run of form which has seen them win only one of their last five matches. Tonight`s hosts are sixth in the Bundesliga but while the domestic title may be beyond them they have a real chance of some silverware in Europe this season and will not want to slip up against one of the weaker sides left in the competition.
Bruno Labbadia`s team are favourites for tonight`s game at 8/15 (bet £15 to win £8 profit), leaving Standard Liege as underdogs at 13/2. Liege are also in questionable domestic form, winning only one of their last four league games, but showed a good deal of strength while winning both legs of their tie with Olympiakos in the last round of this competition. The draw is available at 3/1.
The bookmakers seem to think a comfortable home win is on the cards and have made 2-0 to Hamburg the favourite score for the game at 6/1, followed by 1-0 at 13/2 with 3-0 available at 11/1. Skybet offer 8/1 that the game ends in a 1-1 draw and 0-0 is generally available at 11/1, with a surprise 1-0 win for Liege priced at 16/1, also with Skybet.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been made favourite to open the scoring tonight at 4/1, followed by Mladen Petric and Marcus Berg at 9/2, with nineteen year-old Tunay Torun available at 8/1. Liege`s best hope of scoring the game`s first goal is seen to be Milan Jovanovic and the Serbian forward is priced at at 10/1 with Coral.
Hamburg are 13/10 to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 10/3 to win the match after drawing at half-time. The bookmakers offer 6/1 that both halves end in a draw and Liege are 14/1 to be in front at both the interval and the final whistle. Draw/Liege is priced at 16/1.
Tonight`s hosts are second favourites for the Europa League this season at 9/2, only very slightly behind Liverpool, who are 4/1. Liege are not given as good a chance and are seen as the least likely team remaining in the competition to lift the trophy, priced at 20/1.
