GILLINGHAM, UK: League Two Gillingham will hope they can provide an early FA Cup upset as they host Stoke on Saturday in the competition's third round. The visitors, beaten finalists last year, are strong favourites for the game at 4/6 with Ladbrokes, while Gillingham are as long as 5/1 with Victor Chandler. William Hill are top price on the draw, offering 3/1.
Tony Pulis's Stoke have enjoyed a good start to their Premier League campaign and currently lie eighth in the table, 66 places higher than their opponents. Gillingham, however, are on a good run of form and will believe the backing of their fans can lift them past a Stoke team that could see some unfamiliar faces on display as Pulis looks to juggle the domestic league, the Europa League and the FA Cup at the same time.
The joint-favourite scores in what could be a tough game are 1-1 and 1-0 to Stoke, both at 6/1 with Betfred, with the same firm going 13/2 on 2-0 to the Premier League side. Sportingbet offer 7/1 on 2-1 to Stoke and 10/1 that the game finishes goalless, while Gillingham are as long as 12/1 with Stan James to record an impressive 1-0 upset.
Paddy Power offer a standout 5/1 that Peter Crouch scores the first goal of the game and the lanky England striker is certainly the in-form man, with two goals last time out taking his tally to three in as many games. At the same price as Crouch with Bet 365 is Jonathan Walters, while Kenwyne Jones is 11/2 with Ladbrokes. Camerone Jerome and minute-starved Ricardo Fuller, who could both feature, are 6/1 with Coral, with Gillignham's Danny Kedwell priced at 9/1 with Bet 365.
Stoke are 13/8 with Coral to lead at both half-time and full-time and 7/2 with Ladbrokes to win the match after drawing at the break. Betinternet make it 11/2 that they are held to a draw at both the interval and the final whistle, while Gillingham/Gillingham and draw/Gillingham are 10/1 and 11/1 respectively with Blue Square and 888 Sport
Chelsea are favourites to lift the FA Cup this season, due largely to their home draw against Portsmouth, at 6/1 with Ladbrokes It is certainly not beyond Stoke to go one better than last year, though, and they are plausible outsiders at 40/1 with Bet 365 and Stan James.
The game kicks off at 15.00 GMT.
