FA Cup: West Bromwich Albion vs Cardiff City Odds and Betting Preview

BIRMINGHAM, UK - Premier League side West Brom are 5/6 (bet £6 to win £5) favourites on Betfair to beat Championship side Cardiff City this Saturday in the FA Cup Third Round. While this might not be seen as true cup upset, it is certainly one of the most likely games to see a team beat a side in a league above them, and Cardiff are 7/2 with most firms to come away from the Hawthorns with a win. Punters can back the draw at a top price of 11/4 with Betfred and Bet365.
Cardiff would certainly take a draw, to take West Brom back to South Wales to play a replay in ten days time, and the Welsh side are 12/5 with Blue Square to qualify overall from the tie. West Brom are 4/11 favourites, with both William Hill and Paddy Power.
City are high-flyers in the Championship, only two points and two places off top spot. They have only lost two games on the road all season, and when playing away to teams they are expected to lose to, they have fared well, beating West Ham away 1-0 and Reading 2-1. City are 5/4 with Coral to win with a (+1) goal handicap, and 2/5 with the same firm to win with a (+2) goal handicap.
West Brom are performing better than their run suggests - though they have not won in three, they held Spurs for an hour on Tuesday, were unlucky to lose in injury time to Everton 1-0 on Sunday, and before that impressively held Manchester City 0-0 at home. Conceding 2 goals in 3 games against City, Spurs and Everton is a strong record, and it is 8/5 with Paddy Power that WBA keep a clean sheet. Paddy Power are also offering 11/5 that the home side win to nil against Cardiff this weekend.
The Albion are 21/10 with the same firm to win with a (-1) goal handicap, while Paddy Power offer the best price yet again for a win by 3 or more goals for the Baggies, at 11/2. 2-0 to WBA is 9/1 on Betfair, while 14/1 is the price offered by Bet365 only for a 3-0 home win. The 1-1 draw is best with Coral at 7/1, while Paddy Power offer 13/1 for Cardiff to sneak an away win.
Peter Odemwingie is set to lead the line for the Baggies, and is 11/8 with Boylesports to score anytime. Shane Long is 7/5 with Paddy Power while Boylesports offer 2/1 for Simon Cox, who may get his chance if Roy Hodgson rotates the squad as expected. Cardiff's Kenny Miller and Robert Earnshaw are both 11/4 with Sky Bet to get on the scoresheet.
The match kicks off at 1500 GMT.
