WATFORD, UK - Watford host high-flying Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in an intriguing FA Cup fourth round encounter. Spurs are heavy favourites to win the match and can be backed at best odds of 1/2 (bet £2 to make £1 profit) at BetVictor and totesport. Watford are top priced at 7/1 at Stan James to cause one of the upsets of the round. A draw is quoted at best odds of 100/30 at bet365 and Paddy Power.
Watford are on a poor run of form in The Championship having lost three in a row so the visit of a top Premier League side where the pressure is off may be of welcome relief to The Hornets. Sean Dyche's side will be determined to impress in front of the ESPN cameras on Friday evening and at least perform well enough to give them some confidence for a tough league campaign.
All the attention has been on Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp this week as he has been defending himself against tax fraud charges in court. Redknapp will pick the team to face Watford but will not attend the match. On the pitch Spurs have really impressed this season and are challenging for the Premier League title. Whether the absence of their manager has any effect on performance remains to be seen. Key players Ledley King, Gareth Bale and Scott Parker are set to be rested for this match.
Emmanuel Adebayor has become a firm favourite with the fans at White Hart Lane and is a top priced 4/1 shot at Coral and Ladbrokes to score the opening goal in this match, with Jermaine Defoe only slightly longer at 9/2 with bet365 and Ladbrokes. Roman Pavlyuchenko and Rafael van der Vaart are on offer at 5/1 with bet365 and Ladbrokes respectively. Watford's England U21 forward Marvin Sordell can be backed at best odds of 10/1 at William Hill and Betfred to give the home side the lead.
In the over/under betting market over 2.5 goals in the match is quoted at best odds of 8/11 at Boylesports and Paddy Power, while under 2.5 is a top priced 6/5 chance with bet365 and BetVictor.
The home side are as long as 13/1 with Paddy Power to be winning the match at the end of both halves, while draw/Watford is a top priced 16/1 shot at Ladbrokes. Tottenham Hotspur/Tottenham Hotspur is available at best odds of 5/4 at William Hill and Boylesports, with draw/Tottenham Hotspur quoted at best odds of 100/30 at BetVictor and 888 Sport.
