FA Cup: Middlesbrough v Sunderland Odds and Betting Preview

MIDDLESBROUGH, UK - Middlesbrough host Sunderland in an FA Cup Fourth Round Replay at the Riverside after Fraizer Campbell's goalscoring return in the first match cancelled out Barry Robson's early opener for 'Boro. The home side are top priced at 100/30 (bet £30 to make £100 profit) with Skybet and bet365 to win the match, which would be their first victory over Sunderland at home in nearly ten years. Sunderland are top priced at evens with Ladbrokes to claim victory, while a draw is quoted at best odds of 5/2 at bet365 and BetVictor.
Middlesbrough have really struggled this year and have picked up just two points in The Championship in the five matches they've played in 2012. It is testament to Tony Mowbray's side's start to the season that they remain in the play-off position despite their recent slump in form. 'Boro welcome back former Sunderland player Julio Arca from suspension but may have to do without the influential Barry Robson, who is an injury doubt. Middlesbrough are top priced at 7/4 with Paddy Power to qualify from the tie.
Sunderland, on the other hand, are the in-form team in the Premier League and many were surprised to see them slip up against their Teesside rivals in the FA Cup. The Black Cats have won three in a row in the league and look like challenging for a Europa League spot if their excellent form under Martin O'Neill continues. Sunderland do have plenty of injury worries for this match with captain Lee Cattermole, Nicklas Bendtner, Wes Brown, David Vaughan, Matt Kilgallon and Titus Bramble all out injured. January loan signings Wayne Bridge and Sotirios Kyrgiakos are both ineligible. The Mackems are quoted at best odds of 4/7 at BetVictor to qualify for the next round.
In the over/under betting over 2.5 goals is a top priced 6/5 shot at Ladbrokes, with under 2.5 available at best odds of 7/10 at bet365. With 80 per cent of Middlesbrough's home league games ending with under 2.5 goals and nearly 60 per cent of Sunderland's away Premier League matches ending that way the value looks in the under market.
Beninese forward Stephane Sessegnon has been a revelation for Sunderland this season and is quoted at best odds of 6/1 at bet365 and Betfred to score the first goal in this match, with Fraizer Campbell top priced at 13/2 with BetVictor and 888 Sport. Middlesbrough's Dutch striker Marvin Emnes has been in decent goalscoring for this season and can be backed at best odds of 8/1 at Ladbrokes and Coral to hit the opener in this match.
In the half-time/full-time betting Middlesbrough can be backed at best odds of 13/2 at Stan James and Paddy Power to be winning the match at the end of both halves, whilst draw/Middlesbrough is quoted at best odds of 8/1 at Paddy Power and BetVictor. Sunderland/Sunderland is a best priced 12/5 shot at Ladbrokes, with draw/Sunderland quoted at best odds of 4/1 at Coral and Blue Square.
The match kicks off at 1945 GMT and is live on ITV1
