LONDON, UK - Championship side Millwall host Premier League strugglers Bolton Wanderers at the New Den this Saturday afternoon for the fifth round of the FA Cup. With a quarter-final place at stake, the Premier League side are very marginal favourites at a best price of 13/8 (bet £8 to win £13) to win the game this weekend, while Millwall are available at 15/8 with Blue Square. Punters can get 12/5 on the draw with Betfred and Bet365.
The FA Cup is a distraction for Bolton, who are the closest they have been to relegation from the Premier League for over a decade, but it is represents a decent chance of winning silverware given Manchester City and Manchester United are both out of the competition. The Trotters got all the way to the semi-final last season before going down 5-0 to Stoke and a kind draw has given them a good chance of making it into the quarter-finals. Bolton are 33/1 with most firms to win the competition in May, a price available with Betfred, Ladbrokes and Coral, amongst others.
Millwall are also on the edge of a relegation battle in the Championship, placed at 20th in the 24 team division, of which three go down into League One come the end of the season. After impressively getting past Southampton away in a replay in the last round however, they will fancy their chances of getting past a team who are struggling to score and keep clean sheets. Millwall are 200/1 with Blue Square to get their hands on the trophy at Wembley in May.
In the event of a draw this Saturday the two will play in a replay at the Reebok Stadium in ten days time and it is 4/7 with Boylesports for Bolton to qualify from the tie in any way possible. Millwall are 11/8 with both Blue Square and Bet365 to make it into the quarter-finals.
At home to the better teams in the division Millwall have a respectable record for a relegation candidate, drawing 0-0 with both Cardiff City and West Ham, as well as 1-1 with play-off hopefuls Brighton. Another 0-0 draw is 11/1 on Betfair this weekend while punters can get a best price of 6/1 with Ladbrokes and Blue Square on the 1-1 draw.
Millwall did however lose 6-0 at home to the other side they have played at the upper end of the Championship, Birmingham City, and it is 9/2 with Coral for Bolton to win by two goals or more. Bolton to win with a (-2) goal handicap is 11/1 with Paddy Power.
Bolton, who lie in 19th position in the Premier League, just one point off both safety and the bottom of the table, have an impressive record away at the weakest sides in the division - they have beaten the three teams around them at the bottom, QPR 4-0, Wolves 2-1 and Wigan 3-1. They are 9/1 to win 1-0 on Betfair, while the 2-1 away win is best at 9/1 with Bodog and Ladbrokes. Bolton are 12/1 to win 2-0 with Coral only, while 3-0 is 35/1 on Betfair.
Bolton are 10/3 with Paddy Power to be winning at both half-time and full-time, while Draw/Bolton in the same half-time/full-time market is 5/1 with Bet Victor and Sky Bet. Millwall are 4/1 with Betfred to be winning at half-time and full-time while Bet Victor are offering 9/2 on a draw at both intervals.
The match kicks off at 1500 GMT.
