British Grand Prix Qualifying Odds: Red Bulls favoured over Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton

LONDON, UK - Mark Webber was the fastest man in the second practice at Silverstone as the British bookmakers took action to shorten the two Red Bull cars in the British Grand Prix qualifying betting market. A lot has been made in the motorsport press about the McLaren upgrade, but punters are not entirely convinced about the impact of the blown rear diffuser. In theory the McLarens should be faster around Silverstone this weekend, but punters are more taken by the Red Bull team, which has spent the last two weeks tweaking the RB6 car.
Given that McLaren may not even use their blown rear diffuser in the race itself, Formula One bettors are turning to Sebastien Vettel to clinch pole position this weekend. Vettel is the 5/4 (bet £4 to win £5 profit) favourite with Totesport and Coral to be the fastest qualifier on Saturday, but he faces stiff competition from team-mate Mark Webber if the betting is to be believed.
The Australian driver set the fastest time in the second practice, and can be backed at 9/4 with Paddy Power to get his fifth pole of the season in Britain.
Local McLaren drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton both finished on the podium in the European Grand Prix last month, and can be backed at 11/1 and 7/2 respectively with Boylesports.
Both of the Ferraris also showed good pace on Friday afternoon, and as a result Fernando Alonso has been trimmed by Bet 365 from 9/1 into 8/1 to grab pole. Felipe Massa is ruled out by Sky Bet at 40/1.
Vettel is 9/5 with Sporting Bet to win the British Grand Prix on Sunday and is 7/1 with Paddy Power to grab pole, win the Grand Prix and also set the fastest lap at Silverstone this weekend.
