The 3 Irish Open Betting Preview

KILARNEY, IRELAND- The Irish Open sponsored by Three begins tomorrow at Kilarney Golf Club in County Kerry. It features a strong field but Rory McIlroy has been grabbing most of the headlines.
Other challengers include U.S open champion Graeme McDowell, Padraig Harrington, Darren Clarke and defending champion Shane Lowry, who was a 500/1 shot when he triumphed as an amateur last year.
McIlroy, who is from Northern Ireland, is the bookies favourite at 6/1 (bet £1 to make £6 profit) with Totesport. This follows his strong performance at St.Andrews earlier in the month where his dreams of claiming Open glory were blown away by strong winds during the second round of the tournament.
Other players backed by the bookies are Justin Rose, who is priced at 14/1 with Coral, Graeme McDowell, who is 16/1 with Betfred and Padraig Harrington, who is 18/1 with Sky Bet. Harrington will be hoping to dothe home crowd proud, but as of yet this season he has been unable to match his impressive form of last year.
Another Irish hope is Darren Clark, who came tied 44th at St.Andrews. This weekend however, he is priced at 9/4 with Bet365 to miss the cut. In the same market Canizares is priced at 2/1 with Bet 365.
In other markets Colsaerts is priced at 16/1 to be the top European at the tournament, Chris Wood is 2/5 to make the cut and McIlroy is 12/1 with Boylesports to be the end of round leader.
Rory McIlroy will be hoping to follow up his strong performance at St.Andrews with a win here, and with a price of 6/1 it seems the bookies are backing him to do it.
