PGA Tour Golf Result - Justin Rose lands Memorial Tournament
By Matt Knowles on 2010-06-07 09:28:04
Justin Rose won his first ever PGA Tour event on Sunday in Ohio in what is also his first success for three years. The 29 year-old finished 18 under to win by three shots from runner-up Rickie Fowler.
Fowler has led for three days and went into the final round four shots ahead of Rose, who recorded six birdies and did not bogey a single hole to shock the American.
World number one Tiger Woods had an ordinary tournament and an ordinary final day, going round in 72 to finish 6-under for the tournament in eighteenth place.
Phil Mickelson, golf`s most in-form player, finished eight shots off the lead after a fairly consistent tournament.
Rose`s win sees him improve from 66th in the world rankings to 33rd, while Mickelson has closed the gap between himself and Tiger Woods to just 0.85 average points.
Tiger is still favourite for the US Open at the end of the month at 6/1 (bet £10 to win £60 profit), followed by Mickelson at 15/2 with 888sport and Bluesquare, while Rose is available at 80/1.
