International Friendly: Japan vs South Korea Odds and Betting Preview

SAITAMA, JAPAN - Two old rivals meet today at the impressive Saitama Stadium in an international friendly. However this match will be a friendly only in name and South Korea are favourites to come out on top, priced at 5/4 (bet £4 to make £5 profit) with William Hill to win this evening (kick off 12:00 BST). A draw is priced at 23/10 with Bet365 and a win for Japan is priced at 5/2 with Victor Chandler.
In the Asian handicap market, Japan are priced at evens with a handicap of +0.5 and South Korea are best priced at 5/6 with Ladbrokes with a handicap of -0.5 goals.
Japan are looking for payback for a 2-0 home defeat suffered at the hands of Korea in May in Tokyo in a World Cup warm up match and for a 3-1 defeat at home in February. For a time, it looked as if that loss may cost coach Takeshi Okada his job. However that is now a distant memory and Japan will look to build on their impressive 1-0 victory over a full strength Argentina side last week.
Today`s game should have a different complexion to it than the game in February as both sides are able to recall their European stars for international duty. For Japan, this means a return for the talented Keisuke Honda. The CSKA Moscow man has barely started his international career but has already become a key player. Makoto Hasebe of VfL Wolfsburg will also be welcomed back.
In the correct score market, a 1-1 draw is priced at 11/2 with Coral, a 1-0 win to Korea is priced at 13/2 with Betfair and a goalless draw is priced at 7/1 with Paddy Power. A 1-0 win for Japan is priced at 8/1 with William Hill and a 2-1 victory for Japan is priced at 12/1 with Stan James.
