This summer Spain will look to add to their title of European Champions by lifting the World Cup in South Africa. Tonight they face Korea in their penultimate friendly before the competition and the game will provide an opportunity for fringe players to impress manager Vicente del Bosque.
Spain are heavy favourites to win tonight, priced at 1/4 (bet £40 to win £10 profit) with Ladbrokes, leaving South Korea as underdogs at 11/1, with the draw at 6/1 with Bet365.
South Korea lost 1-0 to Belarus last time out but are otherwise in excellent form, having recently beaten Japan twice and the Ivory Coast. However, it is very hard look past Spain, who have now won an unbelievable 36 of their last 37 matches and lost only once in four years.
A 2-0 win for Spain is the favourite score for the game at 6/1, followed by 1-0 at 7/1 and 3-0 at 8/1 with Stan James. Spain, though, have kept only one clean sheet in their last six, and 2-1 and 3-1 are 10/1 and 11/1 respectively. Bet365 offer 14/1 that the game finishes 1-1 and South Korea are 33/1 to come away with a shock 1-0 win.
David Villa, signed two weeks ago by Barcelona for €40 million, has been made favourite to open the scoring tonight at 3/1 with Bet365. He is followed by another world-class striker in the form of Liverpool`s Fernando Torres at 7/2 with Ladbrokes, with Fernando Llorente next at 5/1, also with Bet365. Chu-Young Park is seen as South Korea`s best hope of breaknig the deadlock and Ladbrokes offer 12/1.
Paddy Power offer 8/11 that pain lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and Betfred are best price on draw/Spain at 4/1. It seems unlikely that South Korea will be able to hold their opponents to a draw and Bet365 are again best price at 10/1 on draw/draw, while Victor Chandler go as long as 28/1 that Korea are in front at both the interval and the final whistle.
Spain are favourites for the World Cup this year, with 4/1 available across the board. Their opponents tonight, however, go as definite outsiders and South Korea are available at 250/1.
