International football betting - France vs Spain

France host Spain tonight in the final round of Friendly matches before this summers` World Cup in South Africa. Spain, whose squad is mostly unchanged from the team that won the European Championships in 2008, are favourites for the tournament. France, however, can count themselves lucky to have even qualified after Thierry Henry blatantly handled the ball in the build-up to the goal that put them through.
The visitors have been made favourites for the game at 6/4 (bet £40 to win £60 profit), leaving France as underdogs at 2/1. Spain won fifteen of their sixteen matches last year, scoring 52 goals and conceding only nine, beating Bosnia-Herzegovina 5-2 last time out. The draw is priced at 9/4 tonight, and France have drawn three of their last six games.
A 1-1 draw, the score in three of France`s last six matches, has been made the favourite score for tonight at 6/1, followed by a 1-0 win for Spain at 13/2. A win for the hosts by the same scoreline is at 15/2 and a goalless draw is available at the same price. A more comfortable 2-0 win for Spain is 12/1 with Skybet and 3-0 is generally available at 28/1.
Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has been made joint-favourite to open the scoring tonight at 6/1 with Coral, along with strike partner David Villa. Thierry Henry, in his first match since his infamous hand-ball, is 7/1 to score the first goal tonight, with Chelsea forward Nicholas Anelka at 15/2 with William Hill and Frank Ribery available at 11/1.
Boylesports offer 4/1 that Spain lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and the bookmakers offer 5/1 that they win the match despite drawing at half-time. Draw/Draw is also at 4/1, with France at 9/2 to be winning at both half-time ad full-time and 11/2 to win at the final whistle after the scores were level at the interval.
Spain are favourites for the World Cup this summer at 9/2 but France are given every chance at 16/1.
