International Friendlies: France v USA Odds and Betting Preview

PARIS, FRANCE - On the back of a lacklustre qualification to the Euro 2012, France host the USA in Paris this Friday. The French team are the favourites at 4/7 with Boylesports whilst the chance of an American upset is on the cards at 15/2 with William Hill. The draw is offered at 3/1 with Betfair.
Laurent Blanc is trying to rebuild the team that was disgraced in the World Cup and a team that only managed to qualify from their Euro 2012 group by a single point, courtesy of a late Samir Nasri equaliser. The Americans on the other hand, travel to the Stade de France with six points out of nine in their Concacaf Group and have started to establish themselves as a proper international football team. They held Mexico to a draw earlier in the year and have recorded convincing wins against Honduras and Panama. Whether the USA can make the step up to the top sector of international football remains to be seen.
The United States appointed Jurgen Klinsmann manager five games ago and it would appear he has taken some getting used to his new squad. He has recorded three losses, one draw and one win which is hardly the immediate exuberance he was expected to bring to the side. Laurent Blanc will be able to put out a stronger side than he has been able to for previous games as Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema have both returned to fitnes
The French coach desperately wants to restore some of the faith in his side which was lost in the World Cup and 1-1 draws against Bosnia-Herzegovina are hardly going to achieve this. With the likes of Ribery, Benzema and Malouda playing there is the possibility of French domination if they hit their rhythm. A 1-0 French win is the bookies favourite at 5/1 with Betfred however a 4-0 home win is priced up at 28/1 with 888Sport. United States are at 14/1 to steal a 1-0 victory with Stanjames.com and the no score draw is at 17/2 with the same.
The French side have only conceded five goals in their last ten games which is no doubt mainly down to their fantastic shot stopper Hugo Lloris. The Americans on the other end of the spectrum have had only one clean sheet in their last six games. The odds for under 1.5 goals is best priced with Sportingbet at 9/4 where as if you think it'll be an entertaining, if not slightly frantic game the odds for over 4.5 goals is 9/1 with William Hill.
The Real Madrid target-man Karim Benzema is favourite to open the scoring for this match at 7/2 with Victor Chandler and this is probably justified considering out of the three appearances he has made for the national side he has scored once and made two assists. Behind Benzema is Loic Remy who has scored a goal every two games this season for his club. The odds for him to break the deadlock are 5/1 with Coral. Jozy Altidore is the favourite for the stars and stripes at odds of 12/1 with Victor Chandler and Landon Donovan, if he plays, is priced up at 12/1 too with bet365.
Both teams have been known for their hot headedness and ill discipline at times and so if you want a different bet the odds for there to be a red card are at 5/2 with Betfair.
