Spanish La Liga - Osasuna vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid travel to Osasuna tonight in La Liga hoping to close the gap on bitter rivals Barcelona at the top of the division. Barca slipped up last night, drawing at home against Villarreal, and a win for Los Merengues would see them level on points with the reigning champions. They will fancy their chances of a victory tonight given that their opponents have only managed one win in their last eight games.
Madrid go into the game as favourites, priced at 1/2 (bet £20 to win £10 profit), leaving Osasuna as underdogs at 6/1. Tonight`s hosts have won six of their last seven matches, including their last three in a row, last time out crushing Zaragoza 6-0. The draw is priced at 10/3 but the two teams together have only recorded four draws in their combined thirty matches this season.
The bookmakers have made 1-0 and 2-0 wins for Real Madrid the two favourite scores for the game at 7/1, ahead of 3-0 at 11/1. A 1-1 draw is at 15/2 and 0-0 is 16/1, but Madrid would definitely see these results as a missed opportunity. A 1-0 upset win for Osasuna is available at 18/1.
The worlds` most expensive player, Cristiano Ronaldo, is favourite to open the scoring tonight at 7/2, ahead of Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain at 4/1 and young Frenchan Karim Benzema at 11/2. Walter Pandiani is seen as Osasuna`s best chance of scoring the first goal of the match at 9/1.
Real Madrid are 5/2 to lead tonight at both half-time and full-time and 7/2 to win after drawing at the interval. The bookmakers offer 13/2 that both halves end in a draw with Osasuna 12/1 to be winning when each half comes to a close and 16/1 to win after the scores are level at half-time.
The men from Madrid are second favourites to win La Liga this season, behind only Barcelona, and a win tonight would see their odds shorten even further than the current price of 5/4.
