English Premiership football - Tottenham vs Aston Villa match betting

In tonight`s late kick-off live on ESPN, Tottenham take on fellow top four contenders Aston Villa in what could turn out to be a crucial match as both teams bid to stay with the rest of the chasing pack.
When these sides played last, Villa went in at the break a goal to the good, but Spurs completely dominated the second half, with Villa hardly seeing the ball. However, Spurs only managed an equaliser, and will look to make up for not getting the winner in this match.
Harry Redknapp`s side put in a good performance midweek, against a gutsy Leeds side in the FA Cup. In the end a Jermain Defoe hat trick carried them to a 3-1 victory, meaning they will face Bolton in the next round. Villa picked up a good win last weekend, with Gabby Agbonlahor`s two goals carrying them to a win over high flying Fulham, but they will have to play better against a Spurs side who have only lost one in their last eight league games.
Tottenham are narrow favourites for the match, priced at 6/5 (bet £50 to make £60 profit), while Villa are at 11/4. The draw is priced at 12/5.
The favourite result is a 1-1 draw, which is at 6/1, followed by a 1-0 Spurs win at 7/1. 2-1 and 2-0 scorelines in Tottenham`s favour are priced at 17/2 and 9/1 respectively. A 1-0 Villa win is also at 9/1. If you fancy Spurs to repeat their midweek scoreline, 3-1 is priced at 18/1.
On the half time / full time market, Spurs / Spurs is the favourite spot, priced at 11/4. Draw / draw and Spurs / Spurs are both at 9/2, and Villa / Villa is at 6/1.
Defoe netted his twentieth goal of the season against Leeds, and is favourite to open the scoring again today at 11/2. If you want to back him to repeat his midweek heroics, he is best priced at 50/1 to score another hat trick. Following Peter Crouch at 6/1, Agbonlahor and Roman Pavlyuchenko are both at 7/1 to score first, ahead of Spurs` new signing Eidur Gudjonsen, who is at 8/1. Villa`s other strikers, John Carew and Emile Heskey, are 9/1 and 10/1 respectively.
Man City are the current favourites to finish in the top four, priced at 19/20, ahead of Liverpool at 15/8. Next come Spurs, at 10/3, while Villa are at 9/2.
