By Matt Knowles on 2009-10-28 22:15:21
The World Series starts today with the record twenty-six time winners New York facing defending champions Philadelphia. The Yankees went 103-59 in the regular season and beat the Angels 4-2 in the American League Championship Series. The Phillies went 93-69 and, as they did last year, beat the LA Dodgers 4-1 to reach the World Series.
New York are favourites for the game at 8/15 (bet $150 to win $80 profit), leaving the Phillies as underdogs at 13/8. In the regular season the Phillies won the three game series between the two teams, played in New York, 2-1 thanks to a 4-3 win in the last game over 11 innings.
