Red Bull Arena, New Jersey - The slumping New York Red Bulls will be targeting a return to form this evening as they host a struggling Toronto FC outfit at the Red Bull Arena. New York are the 4/7 favourites for the match with Stan James. Toronto FC are 13/2 on Betfair to win their first away game of the season. Bet365 are 3/1 on the draw.
New York currently sit second in the Eastern Conference, having picked up 25 points from their first 18 league games. After a fine start to the season, The Red Bulls have slipped in to a miserable run of form recently and have now won just one of their last eleven league games. New York will be hoping to put arrest their alarming slide this evening and will be expected to claim maximum points against one of the league's lesser sides. The Hosts made a major change to their roster recently when sending five time All-Star Dwayne De Rosario to D.C. United in exchange for Dax McCarty, who will be making his home debut this evening.
Toronto FC currently sit 8th in the Eastern Conference after a poor start to the season that has seen them pick up just 18 points from 19 matches. The Canadian outfit defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturay to lift their third consecutive Canadian championship and will be hoping to improve on their 0-4-4 away record this evening. The Reds will be eyeing a surge up the standings after recently announcing the blockbuster signings of former German International Torsten Frings and Dutch striker Danny Koevermans, who will both be available to play for the club from the 15th of July.
New York are 11/2 at Bet365 to claim a 2-1 victory with 3-1 to the hosts a 12/1 chance at Paddy Power. Toronto are 16/1 with Bet365 to snatch a one nil win whilst 2-1 to the visitors is 20/1 with Betfred. Victor Chandler go 7/1 on the 1-1 draw.
Four of the Red Bulls' last five matches have contained at least three goals and punters can back over 2.5 goals this evening at evens with Paddy Power. Bet365 are 19/20 on less than three goals being scored or 11/4 on less than two. Stan James are 11/4 on four or more goals being scored in the encounter.
Both teams have scored in each of the Red Bulls' last 11 league games so punters may look to back both side's getting on the scoresheet this evening at 11/10 with William Hill.
The Match Kicks off at 2000 ET.
