The Indian Premier League's third season begins on the 12th of March. Cricket's richest competition, featuring eight teams, will be played over forty-five days and will be the first ever cricket tournament to be broadcast live over YouTube.com. Four new venues have also been added for this season's competition.

New Zealand take on their old rivals Australia today, in the first of their five match ODI series. The two sides drew their twenty20 series, after a dramatic super over was needed to separate the two teams on Sunday. The Kiwis prevailed, and will carry confidence forward from that result.

England play the first match of the five match ODI series against South Africa in Johannesburg today. The Twenty20 series has already been played, with the sides drawing 1-1. South Africa are favourites to win the match, priced at 2/5, with England priced at 2/1. England have many injury problems, with Stuart Broad definitely missing the first two matches and first choice spinner Graeme Swann also missing.

The Champions League Twenty20 cricket starts tomorrow, with the Bangalore Royal Challengers hosting the Cape Cobras in the opening match. The Challengers are 8/13 favourites for the match, whilst the Cobras are 11/8.

Ricky Ponting's Australia today meet Daniel Vettori's New Zealand in South Africa today in the final of the Champions Trophy. Australia come into the game having crushed England, scoring 258-1 and being unlucky not to see England post a far lower score. New Zealand, who had also taken England apart in this competition, got to the final by beating a Pakistan side with a very strong bowling attack by five wickets, with captain Vettori taking three wickets.

The Champions Trophy is now underway, with Sri Lanka beating hosts South Africa by 55 runs, with Tillakaratne Dilshan scoring 106 runs.

Bookmakers expect Australia to wrap up the 2009 Ashes series comfortably over the next five days at The Oval and make Australia a best price of 11/8 to win the game. The draw is on offer at a top price of 6/4 and England are the 4/1 outsiders. England must win the match to take the Ashes while Australia need only a draw to retain them.
