BOOKIES HOUNDED BY LET’S DANCE FOR SPORT RELIEF GAMBLE
Comedian Rufus Hound has been the subject of a huge gamble this week to win Let’s Dance for Sport Relief which takes place on Saturday. The TV funny was made the even money favourite by Coral bookmakers after the six finalists were known, but that price soon dried up as punters only wanted to bet on one person.
“We thought evens was the right price, but punters are often more clued up than the bookies on public opinion contests like this, and although we have taken a lot of business, over 90% of it has gone the way of the favourite, we were obviously too big,” said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.
Hound will be performer the highly popular Cheryl Cole hit “Fight for this Love”. Second favourite Cheryl Fergison (Heather from Eastenders) will dance to Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby”, while third in the betting, Kate Garraway and Richard Arnold take on “Born to Hand Jive” from Grease.
