The golf calendar’s most exclusive tournament starts tomorrow, with the winner’s of the four major events competing for the $600,000 first prize. The contestants are Angel Cabrera, Lucas Glover, Stewart Cink and Yang Yong-eun.
Masters winner Angel Cabrera is the pre-tournament favourite at 9/4 (bet $40 to make $90 profit). Cabrera has been in fine form this year, finishing in the top 25 in 12 of the 17 PGA events he has played.
Stewart Cink, who triumphed in the Open Championship is second favourite at 11/4. Cink has been in the top 10 in four PGA events this year, as well as coming third in the World Match Play Championship.
US Open Champion Lucas Glover is at 3/1. Glover has also been in the top five in three other tournaments this year. Both Glover and Cink were also in the winning President’s Cup team.
South Korean Yang Yong-eun, winner of the USPGA, is the underdog at 7/2. His only other triumph in a PGA event was at the Honda Classic in March.
