ATP World Tour Finals betting – Andy Murray vs Roger Federer

Posted in Sports, Tennis on November 24, 2009 @ 5:18 pm by Harry Maude

Andy Murray plays Roger Federer tonight as both men aim to continue their winning starts to the World Tour Finals. Murray beat Juan Martin Del Potro in his first match, and Federer beat Fernando Verdasco. These two men just played each other, with Del Potro triumphing in a tie break in the final set.

Whoever wins the match tonight will put themselves in pole position to qualify for the semi-finals, as they will have two wins going into their final match. The match is set to be incredibly close and the bookies cannot differentiate between the two, with both men having a best price of evens.

Federer is 23/10 to win in straight sets, and 7/2 to win 2-1. Murray is priced at 23/10 to win 2-0, and 10/3 to win 2-1.

Murray has a fantastic record against Federer, winning six of the nine matches the two have played. However, it was the World No. 1 who triumphed last time they played, with Federer winning 6-2, 7-6, at the Cincinnati Masters. Both players took a break after the US Open, Federer through fatigue and Murray to recuperate from a wrist injury. Since returning neither player has been in particularly fantastic form, but both looked dangerous once they hit their stride in their opening matches.

Federer has won this tournament four times and will be looking to equal Pete Sampras and Ivan Lendl, who both won it five times. Federer is priced at 2/1 to win the tournament, and Murray is at 11/4.
