Spanish La Liga betting – Real Mallorca vs Barcelona

Posted in La Liga, Soccer, Sports on March 27, 2010 @ 5:30 pm by Harry Maude

Real Mallorca face the unenviable task of hosting the on-fire Barcelona  tonight as the champions look to keep the pressure on Real Madrid. The two Spanish giants are currently equal on points, with Real holding a slender two goal advantage on goal difference. However, the two teams meet at the Bernabeu  on the 11th of April in clash that will play a big part in determining which team will lift the trophy at the end of the season.

Barca have won their last four games, scoring 13 goals in the process, and Lionel Messi has been on red-hot form. He didn’t net against Osasuna midweek, but before that he had scored ten goals in four games, including two hat tricks.

Mallorca will be no pushovers, however, they currently sit in fourth place, and have won 12 of their 14 home games this season. Mallorca also have a better than average head to head record against Los Cules, winning two of their last ten contests and drawing one.

Pep Guardiola’s side are priced at 8/15 to win the match (bet $150 to make $80 profit), while Mallorca are at 13/2 with Skybet to win. The draw is at 7/2 on Betfair.

A 2-1 win for Barca is the favourite scoreline, priced at 15/2, followed by 2-0 win at 9/1. A 1-1 draw and a 1-0 win are also both at 9/1, and a 3-1 Barca win is at 11/1 on Bet365. A 3-0 Barca win is at 15/1 on Betfair, and a goalless draw is priced at 20/1 on Skybet. Ladbrokes have a 2-2 draw at 22/1, and a 1-0 Mallorca win is also a 22/1 shot.

On the half time / full time market, the favourite spot is Barca / Barca, which is offered by Victor Chandler at 13/10, which looks like a very good price. Draw / Barca is at 4/1 on Betfair, and Skybet have 15/2 on draw / draw. Mallorca / Mallorca is at 14/1 with Stan James, and Coral have 16/1 on draw / Mallorca.

Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are the favourites to open the scoring, priced at 11/4 and 10/3 respectively. Thierry Henry and Bojan are both at 5/1, and Jeffren is at 17/2. Mallorca’s best hope is Aritz Aduriz, who is priced at 9/1.

Barca and Real are so finely matched, that they are both priced close to evens on Betfair, with Barca just edging it at 1.98, compared to Real’s 2.02. Mallorca are priced at 11/1 to come third.
