The New York Yankess occupy a familiar position as the 5/2 (bet $20 to make $50 profit) favorites to win the World Series.
The Yankees, who top the AL East by eight games, have the best record of any MLB team and have a .629 seasonal record.
Next in the betting are the reigning World Series champions, the Philadelphia Phillies, at 11/2 on the back of their 71-50 record in the NL East and a five game lead over Atlanta.
The Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers, who are 70-53 and 74-51 respectively this season, are next best in the betting at 7/1. The Los Angeles Angels are next best at 9/1, the same price as the St Louis Cardinals.
The Tampa Bay Rays, who last year were runners up in the World Series, are on offer at 33/1 as they sit in third place in the AL East, eleven games behind the Yankees.
Post-season starts on October 7th with the dates of the World Series set for October 28 through November 5th.
