NFL Week 2 – Buffalo Bills vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Posted in NFL Football on September 20, 2009 @ 3:00 pm by Harry Maude

The Buffalo Bills host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday as both sides seek to make amends for their opening match losses. The Bills are 5 point favourites for the match. On the point spread 19% of money has been backing the Bucs whereas 81% has been for the Bills.

On the money line the Bucs are at a best price of +200 (bet $100 to make $200) while the Bills are offered at -213. The betting on the money line has been 54% for the Bills while there has been 46% for the Bucs.

The under/over line for points in the game is set at 42.  The betting has been 49% over the point line whilst 51% has been under.

The Bills had a poor record at the Ralph Wilson Stadium last season, going 2-6 at home against the spread at home. In their last 24 games at home they have covered the spread on 13 occasions.

Tampa covered the spread on two occasions playing on an artificial surface away from home last season, also failing to cover the spread twice. In their last 13 games on the road on artificial turf they have made the spread on five occasions.

The Bucs have had a squad upheaval over the summer, replacing head coach Jon Gruden, who led them to the Super Bowl in 2002, with Raheem Morris. They released many veterans, including quarterback Jeff Garcia. They lost their opening match 21-34 at home against the Dallas Cowboys.

Buffalo have failed to make the play-offs for nine seasons on the trot. They have replaced their offensive co-ordinator and revamped their offensive line in time for the new season. They lost their opening match 25-24 against Super Bowl favourites the Patriots last week.

The Bills are priced at 89/1 to win the Super Bowl and the Bucs are 259/1.
