UEFA Europa League betting – Liverpool vs Unirea

Posted in Europa League, Soccer on February 18, 2010 @ 7:00 pm by Harry Maude

Liverpool will have their first taste of Europa League action tonight, after the humiliation of being knocked out of the Champions League at the group stages. Unirea’s exit from Europe’s flagship competition was more expected, but they did not disgrace themselves, beating Rangers twice.

Liverpool will be expected to dispatch their weaker opponents, and are priced at 3/10 (bet £100 to make £30 profit) to win tonight. Unirea are best priced at 14/1 with Betfair, and the draw is at 4/1.

A 2-0 win for Liverpool is the favourite result, priced at 11/2, followed by a 1-0 and 3-0 victory at 6/1 and 8/1 respectively.  A 2-1 Liverpool win is at 9/1 with Boylesports, and a 1-1 draw is at 10/1. Unirea’s best hope is a 1-0 win which is at 33/1 with Betfair.

Rafa Benitez’s side are odds on to be winning at half time and full time, at 4/5 with Paddy Power, and draw / Liverpool is at 7/2. Draw / draw is at 8/1 with Victor Chandler, and Unirea / Unirea is at 28/1.

With the continued absence of Fernando Torres, Liverpool’s captain Steven Gerrard is favourite to open the scoring, priced at 9/2, despite the fact that he hasn’t scored since the beginning of January. Dirk Kuyt is next at 5/1, and David N’Gog is at 6/1. Unirea’s best hope is Marius Bilasco, who is at 14/1 with Paddy Power.

Liverpool are heavy favourites to qualify from the tie, priced at 2/11. Unirea are 4/1 to win over two legs.

The reds are currently favourites to win the competition, priced at 13/2. Unirea are massive outsiders, priced at 300/1.
