Women’s Euro 2009 Final – England vs Germany

Posted in Soccer, Women's Soccer on September 10, 2009 @ 4:00 pm by Richard Hutchinson

Germany are the hot favorites to retain their European Championship title when their women’s team meets England in the final tonight.

The game, which kicks off at 5pm UK time in Helsinki, sees Germany priced at 2/5 (bet $50 to win $20) to win in 90 minutes, with the draw on offer at4/1 and England on offer at 6/1.

Germany are not just the reigning European champions but also the World Cup holders. Germany have not lost to England’s women in the last 18 games, although recent results have seen a couple of goal less draw.

England beat Holland in extra time in the semi finals to progress to tonight’s match and they were the dominant side in that fixture. The English players are on £16,000 per year but have full time professional contracts. Although they recognise the size of the task facing them, they claim to be confident they can secure a victory tonight.

Germany are Evens (bet $10 to make $10 profit) to be winning at half time and full time while the draw at half time and Germany winning at full time is the second choice at 7/2.

In correct score betting a 2-0 win for the German women is considered the most likely result at 6/1.
