Britain's Andy Murray takes on current Australian Open champion Rafael Nadal in tonight's quarter final. Murray has never reached the quarters of this competition before, but will harbour high hopes of going even further this time around, having played some sublime tennis on his way to this match up.

The second of the Australian Open quarter-finals takes place tonight, with big-hitters Andy Roddick and Marin Cilic set to slug it out for a place in the semi-final. Both players came through five set matches to make it this far, with Roddick coming back from 2-1 down to beat Fernando Gonzalez and Cilic knocking fourth seed Juan Martin del Potro out.

Roger Federer takes on Romanian Victor Hanescu in his second round match tonight. Federer was not at his best in his first round tie with Igor Andreev, and the Russian took the first set from the World No. 1. Federer eventually prevailed 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-2), 6-0, and should face an easier time tonight against the World No. 47.

The year's first Grand Slam starts this Monday, and the draw has now been made. Top seed Roger Federer faces a possible quarter final clash with in-form Russian Nikolay Davydenko, and a could face 2008 champion Novak Djokovic in the semi-final. Federer lost in the final to Rafael Nadal last year, and the three time champion will look to regain his title this year.

Tiger Woods has made the long journey to Australia for the JBWere Masters, which represents a huge step forward for Australian Golf. The American is rumoured to have been paid twice the total prize money of A$1.5 million for his participation in the event, held at Kingston Heath for the first time having moved from Huntingdale, which has seen the tournament sell out and drawn crowds expected to be as large as 100,000.
