Champions League post-draw betting update

The Champions League draw has thrown out some mouth-watering clashes in the first knockout stage. Probably the tie of the round is Inter Milan vs Chelsea, which will see Jose Mourinho return to the club where he won two Premiership titles. Manchester United also got a tough draw with the news that they will play AC Milan in their first knockout match. This will see David Beckham return to his former club for the first time since he left Manchester to play for Real Madrid.

UEFA Champions League betting – Marseille vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid tonight travel to Marseille to play their final Champions League group game. Madrid struggled to a 4-2 win against Almeria on Saturday, scoring three late goals, but are in the driving seat in their group. They are currently on 10 points, with AC Milan on eight and Marseille on seven.

Spanish La Liga betting – Barcelona vs Real Madrid

The day has finally arrived. Today Real Madrid travel to the Nou Camp for the biggest club game in world football, El Clasico. This year the clash carries even more weight, with Real Madrid having spent over £200 million over the summer in a bid to overtake their Catalan rivals, who completed an unprecedented treble [...]

2010 World Cup Qualifier betting – France vs Republic of Ireland

Ireland will travel to the Stade de France tonight needing a win to have any chance of qualifying for the World Cup next year in South Africa after the first leg saw them lose 1-0 due to an unfortunate deflected strike from Chelsea striker Nicholas Anelka. Last year's finalists and 1998 World Champions France will now fancy their chances of an eighth straight qualification for a major tournament.

World Cup Qualifier betting – Republic of Ireland vs France

The Republic of Ireland will host France tonight in the first leg of the play-off for a place in next year's World Cup in South Africa. It is a vital clash for both sides. Ireland have only qualified for three World Cups in their history and after missing the last one will be desperate to make it through this year, while France have qualified for six of the last eight and reached the final last time and failure to qualify would be a disaster.

Spanish Copa del Rey betting – Real Madrid vs Alcorcon

Real Madrid will be eager for revenge tonight as they welcome third-tier Alcorcon to the Santiago Bernabeu in the Copa del Rey. Under normal circumstances Real Madrid fans worldwide would take for granted not only a win, but a very comfortable win, against such a side. However, these are troubling times for Los Merengues, who have won only two of their previous six games and two weeks ago lost 4-0 to the very minnows they face tonight. They will be boosted by the fact that they won their last game against Atletico, but their rivals are not the force they once were with only one win all season, and the narrow margin of victory can only be a concern for the famous men in white.

La Liga football betting – Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid make the short journey across the city to bitter rivals Atletico tonight in La Liga. This match, always vital to fans of both teams, has an extra edge to it as both teams are going through very poor spells at the moment. Real, after spending several hundred million pound over the summer, have won just once in their last five games in all competitions, losing to Milan at home and most embarrassingly being thrashed 4-0 by third-tier village side Alcorcon in the Spanish Cup despite putting out a very strong side. Atletico, however, have had problems of their own with only one win all season.

Spanish La Liga football betting – Real Madrid vs Real Vallodolid

Real Madrid welcome Real Valladolid to the Bernabeu for tonight's La Liga clash. The hosts currently sit second in La Liga and have won five of their last six league games. However, they went into the international break on the back of their only defeat of the season, a 2-1 defeat at Sevilla. Valladollid are sixteenth with only one win this season, drawing last time out with Athletic Bilbao.

2010 World Cup Qualifier Betting – France vs Austria

France host Austria tonight in the final round of qualifiers for next year's World Cup finals in South Africa. Neither team can advance their chances of qualifying tonight, France having secured a play-off place and Austria unable to finish in the top two. However, France will want to go into the play-offs on a high. Last weekend they beat the Faroe Islands 5-0, but before that they drew with Serbia and Romania and squeezed unconvincingly past the Faroe Islands 1-0.

La Liga football betting preview – Sevilla vs Real Madrid

Big-spending Real Madrid face their first test in the league as they travel to Sevilla. Real are in superb form following their summer spending and still have a 100% record so far this season. In their last four games in the league they have scored 13 goals and have not conceded.
