Roger Federer remains favourite for the US Open this year despite his early Wimbledon exit, which saw him fall as low as third in the world rankings. The Swiss, who has been almost invincible at the tournament in recent years, lost in the quarter-finals against twelfth seed Thomas Berdych, to the horror of punters who had thought backing him was like buying money.

In round three of the Aegon Championship at Queen's, Rafael Nadal is a huge favourite at 1/33 (bet £33 to win £1 profit) with Boylesports to beat Denis Istomin, with the Bulgarian available at 16/1.

The ATP Dubai Tennis Championships started yesterday, and it was due to be the first time that the top players met in the same tournament since the Australian Open three weeks ago. Unfortunately, world no. 1 Roger Federer will not take part due to a lung infection, but the field will still be strong, with Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Nikolay Davydenko all competing for the title.

The year's first Grand Slam starts this Monday, and the draw has now been made. Top seed Roger Federer faces a possible quarter final clash with in-form Russian Nikolay Davydenko, and a could face 2008 champion Novak Djokovic in the semi-final. Federer lost in the final to Rafael Nadal last year, and the three time champion will look to regain his title this year.

Rafael Nadal will tonight try to get his World Tour Finals campaign back on track, after he was soundly beaten by Robin Soderling on Monday. He lost in straight sets to the Swede, and has generally looked out of touch since his return from injury. Soderling leads the group after his win over Novak Djokovic earlier today, and looks set to advance to the semi finals.

Novak Djokovic, the form man on the circuit, takes on Nikolay Davydenko in a tough opening match. The defending champion has been installed as favourite for the tournament, after wins in China, Basel and Paris.

World no.1 Roger Federer plays Fernando Verdasco in the second of today’s group A matches, after Andy Murray beat Juan Martin Del Potro 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. If Federer wins this match, he will play Murray on Tuesday in the second group of round robin matches.

Andy Murray plays his first match in the World Tour Finals against this years' US Open Champion Juan Martin Del Potro. Murray has been drawn in a tough group, having to face Roger Federer and Fernando Verdasco as well as the Argentine.

The world’s top four players reunite, after not playing in the same tournament since the US Open in September. Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic come to the tournament, fresh off the back of victories in Valencia and Basel respectively. This is the last men’s event before the season ending World Tour Finals in London at the end of the month, and players will be competing here to have a chance of seizing the last two qualification spots.
