The race for the Golden Boot is heating up and Gonzalo Higuain has been made slight favourite to land the award, at 3/1 (bet £10 to in £30 profit) with most bookmakers. The second largest derby in Spanish football is held tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu as Real Madrid host cross-city rivals Atletico. The hosts will have enough incentive to win the match, with their position at the top of the La Liga table decided only by goal difference, but Atletico will be eager to get one over on their rivals and derby games are often capable of throwing up a surprise result.

Real Madrid's expensively-assembled squad will look to justify their remarkable price-tags tonight as the new Galacticos face Lyon in the Champions League. The four most expensive players in Madrid's side alone cost £200 million this summer but the Spanish Giants are facing yet another humiliating exit at this stage of the competition. Manuel Pelligrini's side have now gone top of La Liga but many believe the Chilean will need to deliver Europe's most prestigious title to keep his job.
