Despite being knocked out in the quarter-finals for the second time running, Brazil are the bookmakers' favourites to win the 2014 World Cup. The Samba Stars have been chalked up as the 4/1 favourites with Ladbrokes, even though they are currently manager-less after previous coach Dunga recently paid the price for a disappointing 2010 campaign.

Brazil have been well-backed this morning to beat Holland in 90 minutes in the first of the World Cup quarter-finals, despite being dogged by injury problems. The Samba Stars are now generally at odds of 10/11 with the bookmakers to get the job done in regular time, but favourite backers may be concerned that their team will be without the likes of Elano and Ramires and quite possibly Julio Baptista and Felipe Melo too.

Luis Fabiano has been made favourite to finish the World Cup as Brazil's top goalscorer at 4/6 (bet £60 to win £40 profit) with Ladbrokes after scoring twice in the competition so far, with both goals coming in his side's 3-1 win over the Ivory Coast.

Luis Fabiano's double against the Ivory Coast has seen him installed as favourite to finish the World Cup as Brazil's top goalscorer. The Sevilla striker's club season was disrupted by injury but he still managed an excellent 15 goals in only 18 starts and he will be the focal point of his country's attack this summer.

Tonight's World Cup glamour tie is a feisty match-up between tournament favourites Brazil and dark horses Ivory Coast. Time and time again the big clashes do not live up to their billing, but there will be plenty of interest in the Soccer City match-up between the top ranked team in the world and one of the top African sides.
