Manchester City saw their odds of winning the Premier League title cut from 10/1 (bet £10 to win £100 profit) to 7/1 with most bookmakers after a deserved 3-0 win over Liverpool at Eastlands on Monday. After a summer of vast expenditure in the transfer market, Roberto Mancini was able to ease some of the fears that it would take too long for his side to gel for them to make a serious challenge at the top of the table. Bookmakers Stan James, however, would not have been best pleased with the result, as they have offered to refund all losing outright bets if City go on to win the Premier League.
