Monday Night Football - betting odds, totals lines and point spread
By Richard Hutchinson on 2010-09-13 20:17:23
The NFL are serving up a double header of Monday Night Football this evening and the action kicks off with the Baltimore Ravens travelling the short distance to the New York Jets. The linesmakers are struggling to split the teams and currently the Jets are favored by 1.5 points.
However bettors have sided with the Ravens getting a 1.5 point start and at 5pm EST the sportsbooks reported that 64 per cent of all point spread action taken on the game was on the visitors. On the money line the Ravens are +110 and 83% of all bets have been on Baltimore with 17% on the Jets at -130. The under/over for the game is 36.5 and a small majority of 55 per cent of bettors have gone for the over. Live Odds and Scores have a full betting preview of the Ravens vs Jets.
The Ravens vs Jets game kicks off at 7.05pm EST and is on ESPN.
The second game is the San Diego Chargers trip to the Kansas City Chiefs and the point spread has the visitors as 4.5 favorites. Given that the Chargers have won their last five games against the Chiefs - both on the field and on the point spread - it is perhaps suprising the line is so low, especially as the same matchup ended 37-7last year in week 7 when the Chargers were 5 point chalks. Unsurprisingly sportsbooks report all the action is on San Diego with 86 per cent of bets on the point spread on the visitors and 80 per cent of money line on them too even though the odds are -220. The under/over for the game is 45 and 56 per cent of the cash is on the over. Read our detailed betting preview of San Diego Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chargers vs Chiefs game kicks off at 10.15pm EST and will also be on ESPN.
The evening has turned into an unusually busy night of sporting action as the US Open men`s tennis final between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal was not played last night because of heavy rain at Flushing Meadows and starts instead at 4pm EST. Read our full betting preview of Nadal vs Djokovic.
