NFL Week One open betting lines and odds

Opening betting lines for 2010 NFL Week One have now been posted and the Titans, Bears and Giants are the only teams in the whole NFL who are favored by a touchdown or more in what looks like a remarkably balanced weekend of pro football.
The 2010-2011 curtain-raiser sees the Vikings take on the reigning NFL champions, the New Orleans Saints. The bookmakers have the Saints as favorites on the money line at -250 (bet $250 to win $100 profit), with the Vikings at +187 (bet $10 to win $187 profit). The spread is five points but when the teams met in the NFC Championship game last season it was far closer than that as it took an overtime field-goal to separate them.
Another interesting matchup in week one is the Cincinnati Bengals` Â trip to New England to face the Patriots. Both teams finished 10-6 before disappointing post-seasons and the Pats are six-point favorites to start this season off the right way, -275 on the money line, with the Bengals at +200.
There are as many as eight games where the spread is a field goal or less and the closest of these is the game NFC West matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks. The spread is 0, with both teams at -110 on the money line. The Falcons and the Steelers are also both at -110 on the money line with with a one-point spread.
The Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles are also separated by only one point, with the Eagles favorites on the money line at -120, with the Packers at even money, and Tampa Bay are favored by 1.5 points over the Cleveland Browns, who are +100 on the money line.
Miami and Buffalo both had losing seasons in the NFC East last year and will look to put that right from the start this time around as they meet in Western New York. The Bills are home dogs at -1.5 and +105 on the money line, with the Dolphins at -125.
Other division rivalries that will be rekindled right from the off this season include Indianapolis` trip to Houston and Arizona`s meeting with the Rams in Saint Louis. The Colts, beaten in the Super Bowl earlier this year, are favored by only three points from the Texans, who had an inconsistent season, finishing 9-7, with the money line making the visitors -162 and the hosts +130. Arizona are on a spot of -3.5 against the lowly Rams, who managed only one win, and are -200 on the money line.
Home field advantage has the bookmakers making the Giants favorites by a touchdown (-350 on the money line) to beat the Carolina Panthers (+250) after both teams finished 8-8 last season. The same lines can be found in Chicago as the Bears, who went 7-9, take on the Lions, who had another season to forget as they won only twice all year.
The biggest line of the week comes in the game between Tennessee and Oakland as the Raiders go to Nashville as 7.5-point underdogs, at +275 on the money line. Other games include an interesting contest between Dallas (-200) and Washington (+162) as the Redskins, underdogs at +3.5, look to rebuild after a disappointing season, and Denver`s meeting with Jacksonville. Both teams suggested they were capable of big things last September before falling off the pace and week one will be an important test for them.
The Hall of fame game that rings in the first round of pre-season fixtures is on the 8th August and week one gets under-way at 8.30 p.m. Eastern Time on the 9th September.
