By Matt Knowles on 2010-01-10 20:10:40
Green Bay travel to Arizona tonight in the Wild Card round of the NFL play-offs hoping to continue the good form they showed during the regular season. The Packers surpassed most people`s expectations this season and finished with an impressive record of 11-5. Arizona went 10-5 and having lost last year`s Super Bowl will be very eager to get back there this year.
The Packers are favourites for the game on the money line at -137 (bet $100 to win $137 profit), leaving the Cardinals as underdogs at +125 (bet $100 to win $125 profit). Betting on the money line so far has favoured Green Bay,with 72% of money so far backing the favourites to avoid an upset.
The point spread for the game has been set at three points, making the Packers favourites at -3 points and giving the Cardinals a handicap of +3 points. Betting against the spread so far has been even more heavily in favour of the visitors, with 83% of money backing them to cover tonight. Last time the teams met was in week seventeen of the current season and the Packers did indeed win by more than three points, thrashing Arizona 33-7.
Green Bay have managed to perform slightly better against the spread than they have on the field this season, going 11-5 on the field but covering the spread at 11-4-1. Arizona, however, have only covered the spread nine times despite winning ten games.
The Over/Under for the game has been set at 48.5 and betting so far has seen 78% of money backing the Over. However, Green Bay split 8-8 on the Over/Under and Arizona recorded only five Overs and eleven Unders in their sixteen decisions this season.
