NFL Week Sixteen - Buffalo Bills vs Atlanta Falcons
By Matt Knowles on 2009-12-27 17:00:16
Atlanta play host to Buffalo tonight in a game that features two teams that are already eliminated from play-off contention. While Atlanta`s 7-7 record would keep them involved in the AFC Wild Card race, the NFC is tougher and the post-season is out of reach. However, if the Falcons win their two remaining games this season, they will have finished win winning records in consecutive seasons for the first time in the franchise`s history. Buffalo, at 5-9, cannot even finish at .500, but will look to give their fans some joy after a disappointing season.
The hosts go into the game as favourites on the money line at -450 (bet $450 to win $100 profit), leaving Buffalo as underdogs at +375 (bet $100 to win $375 profit). Betting on the money line so far has seen an overwhelming majority of action behind the Bills, with 96% of money backing an upset for the visitors.
The points spread for the game has been set at nine points, making the Falcons favourites at -9 points and giving the Bills a handicap of +9 points. Betting against the spread has also been behind Buffalo, with 60% of money backing them to cover the spread tonight. Last time the sides met was in 2005 and Atlanta came out on top 24-16.
The Over/Under for the game has been set at 41 points and betting so far has seen 61% of money backing the Under.
