NFL Week Sixteen - Jacksonville Jaguars vs New England Patriots

Jacksonville travel to New England tonight hoping to preserve their slim play-off hopes against a New England side that has been having a very inconsistent year. The Jags are now at 7-7, along with five other teams in the AFC, and need to get out in front of their rivals to catch Baltimore or Denver, who currently hold the Wild Card spots. The Patriots look as if they will feature in the post-season but will want a win to secure their place tonight.
The Patriots are favourites for the game on the money line at -350 (bet $450 to win $100 profit), leaving the Jaguars as underdogs at +300 (bet $100 to win $300 profit). Betting on the money line so far has seen 65% of money in favour of an upset for the Jacksonville tonight.
The points spread for the game has been set at eight points, making the Patriots favourites at -8 and giving the Jags an advantage of +8 points. Betting against the spread has been more even than the money line and is slightly in favour of New England with 56% of action backing them to beat the spot. Last time the teams met they did win by more than eight, beating the Jags 31-20 in the play-offs in 2007.
The Over/Under for the game has been set at 43.5 points and betting so far has seen 77% of money backing the Over.
New England have not been as good as they have in recent seasons but are still among the top contenders for the Super Bowl, priced at 12/1.
