NFL Week Twelve betting - Kansas City Chiefs vs San Diego Chargers

San Diego host Kansas City this week in week twelve of the NFL looking to further their play-off hopes with another win. The Chargers seem to have hit top gear and last week`s 32-3 thrashing of Denver on the road was their fifth win in as many games and saw them improve to 7-3. Kansas City have had a season to forget and they currently sit at 3-7, but can take heart from their upset of Pittsburgh last week, which gave them back-to-back wins for the first time this year.
The bookmakers seem able to picture only one outcome for the game and have made the Chargers heavy favourites on the money line at -750 (bet $750 to win $100 profit), leaving the Chiefs at +600 (bet $100 to win $600 profit). Betting on the money line so far has seen 73% of money backing Kansas City to deliver a second upset in a row.
The point spread has been set at a huge 13.5 points for the game, making the Chargers favourites at -13.5 points and giving Kansas City a much-needed handicap of +13.5 points. Betting against the spread so far has been in favour of San Diego, with 67% of action backing them to cover. Last time the sides met 13.5 points would not have been enough for the underdogs as San Diego mauled the Chiefs 37-7 in Kansas City.
The Chiefs have performed slightly better against the spread so far this season than they have on the field, covering at 5-5 while winning at only 3-7, while Sand Diego failed to cover in their win over Denver and both their defeats of Oakland, meaning they have covered at 5-5 while winning at 7-3.
The Over/Under total for the game has been set at 45 points and betting so far 60% of money has backed the Under. However, this seems strange as the teams combined have recorded eleven Overs, six Unders and three Evens in their twenty decisions so far.
San Diego`s recent form has seen them charge into the frame for the Super Bowl and they are now rated as the fifth-favourites for glory this year at 14/1. Kansas City, where quoted, are 1000/1.
