NFL Week Twelve betting - Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

Week twelve of the NFL season sees the Indianapolis colts looking to preserve their unbeaten record as they travel to Houston to face the Texans. The visitors have been excellent all season and last week`s 17-15 win against the Ravens in Baltimore saw them improve to 10-0. Houston have been inconsistent this year and have lost their last two games, last week going down 20-17 to another AFC South rival, the Tennessee Titans, to fall to 5-5.
The Colts go into the game as slight favourites on the money line at -180 (bet $180 to win $100 profit), leaving the Texans as home underdogs at +170 (bet $100 to win $170 profit). Betting so far on the money line has seen 80% of money backing the Colts to extend their winning streak tonight at the expense of the hosts.
The points spread has been set at 3.5 points for the game, making the Colts favourites at -3.5 and giving the Texans a handicap of +3.5 points. Betting so far against the spread has seen 95% of action behind the visitors. However, the teams met in week nine in Indianapolis and the Colts only won it 20-17, allowing Houston to cover the spread.
Indianapolis may be 10-0 on the field, but have not been as successful against the spread, covering at only 6-4. Houston have been very slightly better at covering the spread than at winning, covering at 5-4-1, an improvement on their 5-5 record. The Colts have won fourteen of fifteen matches between the two sides but have only covered in seven of these contests.
The Over/Under is set at 48 points for this game and so far 66% of money has backed the Under. This seems reasonable as the two teams combined have recorded thirteen wins in their twenty decisions so far.
The Colts are joint favourites for the Super Bowl this season at 4/1 along with the Saints. Houston are not rated as highly and at 125/1 can have little hope of glory this season.
